The black numbers are very clear against the white face and the time is easy to read. For dim lighting, the talking feature is so convenient and is perfectly audible. When I opened the box, the watch was running and had set the correct time by itself. I would have liked this watch to also have a light, but I bought it anyway. There is a man's and woman's model made by this company. The band is leather and easy to strap on. The holes on the band are adequate for the thinnist of wrists.
